Program Information
The program meets throughout the year through three two-day in-person meetings in Montreuil, just outside Paris, combined with monthly online meetings. This structure provides continuity and allows each participant to develop their work at their own pace, with regular feedback and guidance. Accommodation and transportation are easily accessible, and practical information will be provided upon acceptance.
The first in-person meeting introduces the workshop through a presentation of the work of JH Engström and Margot Wallard, followed by a short presentation by each participant. The second day is dedicated to individual meetings, allowing us to establish the starting point for the year according to each participant’s experience, interests and current projects. Some may already have a project in progress, while others may be looking for a new direction.
The second and third in-person meetings follow the same format, with two days of group presentations, discussion and critique. Participants share the work developed since the previous meeting and receive feedback on its development. The final meeting focuses not on completing a final work, but on considering how each project can continue beyond the program and what directions it might take.
Between the in-person meetings, monthly online sessions provide continuity, allowing participants to regularly share new work, edits, research or other developments. These on-line sessions provides the rythme and continuity of the program
The program is conceived as an ongoing process of exchange and development, adapting to the needs and rhythm of each participant.
The first meeting will take place on October 24–25. The dates for the second meeting (mid-year) and the final meeting (September) will be decided collectively with the group.
Breakfast and lunch is offered each day of the in person meetings, and the first evening includes dinner and drinks at a restaurant.
PRICE : 3900 Euros
This price does not include production, travel, or accommodation for the meetings. A 50% deposit by bank transfer is required once you have been accepted to the Atelier Smedsby workshop, and the remaining 50% one week before the start of the workshop.
